We are back with another exclusive interview/ feature artist article with an inspiring artist named Polobabyflako. • What got you started making music, and how did growing up in Kissimmee shape that?
I've always been into music since elementary school but I was born up north and moved to Kissimmee when I was 11 years old. One of the first people I met were rappers so I ended up diving into hip hop.
• How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music?
I would say conscious trap music. I rap about the streets but within that lifestyle I really get into the reality that comes with the game.
• What’s your creative process like? Do you write from a certain mood or place?
For me everything start with the beat. I go through beats from different producers, sounds, vibes and depending on what talks to me on the music I talk back on the track.
• What’s one track you’re most proud of right now, and what’s the story behind it?
The track I'm most proud of is "WHO SHOT CHARLIE?" I went outside the box and got into a different element which the average person might not catch on to. This track is more for a specific type of listener and I get the most reactions from those people when they listen to the song.
• How do you balance being independent with getting your music out there?
For me it's about organization. I approach it like a business: scheduled studio sessions, writing sessions, video shoots, releases and shows. I have a specific way I operate, and every step is calculated. To get my music out, I connect with platforms and pages that focus on upcoming artists.
• What’s the local music scene like in Kissimmee/Orlando, and who inspires you around here?
The local scene is cool in the city. There are always open mics and showcases where people can sign up to be heard. Block Forever is one of the artists who inspires me the most. He's been a veteran in Central Florida for years, we've been around similar circles but never connected. When we finally worked on a record, it turned into a whole project!
• If you could collab with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Big Pun, he's on my top 3 MC's so it would only be right to do something with him. From lyrics to creativity to both being Latino we would kill a crazy Spanglish record.
• What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?
I don't like to party LOL. I'll step out here and there but the clubs and night life don't really move me. I fall back from doing the most even though I'ma rapper.
• What’s next for you — any new projects or goals you’re chasing?
Since last year I've consistently been dropping singles and EP's alongside visuals. I just released a new EP called 4 FLOORS produced entirely by BOGEY. That's what I do with the projects, I lock in with one producer for like 4 or 5 track EP's and that's how we been rocking. More music more visuals more moves all 2026 and go forward.
As far as goals go, we all want to make it big right? That's the dream goal, but realistically, creating my own community and making my mark in Hip Hop is my true goal.
• What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone trying to break into music independently?
Don't think one person can change your life. This aint' the movies, sometimes it does play out like that but that's one in a million. If you really want to win in this game, you gotta approach it like a business and do just that, run a successful business. If this is just a hobby for you, that's cool too but don't be on the sidelines hating and complaining because while you play around with the craft there are people who put their whole life into this.
